Make Your Day!!

You want your day to be enjoyable, fun and memorable. To help make that happen we have devised Private Time. This is an opportunity for the Bride and Groom to spend personal time together. The Groom is standing with his back to the Bride, she approaches and touches him gently on his shoulder. He slowly turns to see his bride revealed in her wedding finery for the first time. Often, tears flow. This emotional time is captured from a distance giving the couple privacy to share personal time together... which tends to be in short supply on the wedding day.

Private time is usually followed by family and wedding party photos. If the Bride & Groom want images from different locations that is the time we do the travel. With these images completed the Bride and Groom are seperated and given time to refresh before the ceremony begins. Following the ceremony the couple is then free to enjoy the company of their freinds and family making the entire day more fun and relaxed.

Your day will flow better when you have a realistic view of what you really want and need captured on your day. Questions you should think about....

What would you like people who have attended your wedding say about it when it's over?

When would you like coverage to begin? Getting ready with mom can be an extremely emotional time leading to very powerful images. Are there any special events going on? Are the guys going golfing? Ladies headed off to the beauty salon?

Are there any extra special people attending the wedding you want to make sure you get images of? Friends, Step Parents, Grandparents??

Who are the immediate family members who should be part of the pre wedding photography?

What type of images really help tell your story? When groups are posed do you prefer more formal and traditional? Or is a looser relaxed style better for you? If so, will your parents be happy with that style also?

Black and white, sepia tone or color?

Anything special that will happen during the ceremony? Ring bearers, flower girls, dogs delivering the rings, sand ceremony, children recieving or exchanging gifts???

When should coverage end? What kind of events will be part of the reception? Toasts? From how many different people? First dance? Father/daughter - Mother/son dance? Garter and flower toss?

Other information we would like to know includes, what are your colors? What is the cut of your dress. The bridesmaids? Tuxes for the guys? Any jewelry to be worn with special meaning?

I think you get the idea. The more information we have to work with, the more complete your photographic coverage will be.
Pre-Wedding Session

The engagement or pre-wedding session is our time to get to know each other. This photography session can last from one hour to all day depending on the goals for the images. Some couples just wish for an announcement photo but we're still going to spend some time together. Reasons are three-fold:

One - I can learn about your personalities and how you interact together: what angles best suite your facial features (You know, your best side)

Two - After seeing the images you understand why I might ask you to tilt your head or stand a certain way.

Three - You get to practice getting comfortable in front of the camera so you don't look posed on the wedding day. (We can also work faster so you can spend more time with your guests on the wedding day)

Bonus - The Groom gets to see that creating the images is actually fun and a good time!

Other possibilities for using pre-wedding images include creating a guest sign-in book with images which is much more of a keepsake than one off the shelf. It encourages your guests to share more than just their signature preserving memories in a beautiful way.

For the ultimate Engagement Session we can recreate the day of your proposal by traveling to the city or restaurant or wherever that moment occured. This will flesh out the story even more saving those memories (and creating new ones) for all time.</text>

<text>
Viewing Images after the Wedding

Following the wedding there are several ways your images will be delivered to you.

You will receive a DVD. This will contain a simple and beautiful slide-show set to music. In addition, all of your images are available to view on your DVD player as large as your television screen will allow. You can view them in Black and White or Color. Images are numbered for ease of making selections for your album, thank-you cards, framed artwork and ordering additional prints.

We will also post an edited version of your images too a secure Internet site that is password protected. You may share this password with your friends and family. There is a provision for people to order photos should they choose to do so. As a service we will provide Favor Cards. This business sized card has an image from the pre-wedding session with the couple's' names and wedding date on the front. On the reverse side is the web address and password where images may be viewed.

Family Portraits

A wedding is a great time to have family portraits made. When is the next time all the family is gathered?? We recommend having everyone in the day before the wedding. Then casual family portraits can be created in addition to the more formal photos on the wedding day. Everyone who has chosen to do this has found it to be great fun and we are able to capture the family at ease and a bit more natural than is normally possible on the wedding day.

Here are some thoughts on making the most of your time together and creating the most flattering portraits possible. Please don't hesitate to ask questions if you are not sure what to wear. This can literally make-or-break your portrait!

Your clothing should be appropriate for the type of portrait you desire, casual or formal. The clothing selection should reflect your family’s personality.

• Keep the clothes simple! Co-ordinate for balance, harmony and color. Subtle shades of color look best.

• Solid colors, either all light or all dark, all the same color or a few different hues of the same color work best.

• Long sleeves, slacks or long skirts are better than sleeveless shirts, short skirts or shorts. The reason for this is the less skin showing allows the faces to be the area of highest contrast. That makes them the first thing one sees when looking at the finished portrait.

• Everyone should match on the lower half or possibly make two choices.

• Dress for full-length photographs; include socks and shoes in your preparation. No white or bright colored tennis shoes. You want the eye to go to the faces not the feet in the portrait. In some more casual situations we may have everyone barefoot.

• Jeans offer a more relaxed look. Khakis and slacks are slightly more formal.

• Formal portraits look great with suits and ties for the men and dresses or blazers for the women. Ties and scarves may add a splash of color. But we'll catch that type of portrait on the wedding day....
